5 Back to School
Success Ideas Article by Laura

New book bags, clothes,
sneakers will not guarantee a student’s school success. Thirty days
after school starts the book bag will be torn, the clothes will be
dirty and the new pens lost. Now what? These things may give a
student a good first impression with a new teacher, but they
will not insure their success during the entire school year. The key
to a student’s success in school is educational responsibility. Here
are some ideas to help them.
5 Rules for Success in School (and in
life)
1. To get ahead in
life - learn more, do more.
2. Don't Find a Fault; Find a Solution.
3. Help others.
4. Eliminating excuses.
5. Enthusiastically take action on your dreams.
Suggestions for
implementation:
Highlight one rule
and focus on it for one week. The next week choose another rule to
focus on for the week. Over a ten week period each rule will get
your attention for one week. Repeat the process until these rules
become a habit.
With these life
skills, individuals will be able to more clearly define what is
important in life. They will learn that success takes time, planning
and determination. Goal setting and educational ownership are
fundamental building blocks students need to become active
participants in their education and their future
success.

Rebuilding Reputation After A
Crisis Blog by Celine
Benjamin
from http://blog.branders.com
By now you’ve
probably been warned about the salmonella-tainted tomatoes that have
caused more than 500 people to be sick throughout the country.
Although the produce hasn’t been linked to any specific restaurant,
grocery, or food chain, what’s certain is that they came from Mexico
and Florida, so better be careful with what you eat.
I am
reminded of a similar salmonella incident some years back (no need
to mention what chain–am sure they’re trying very hard to get their
business on its knees), and I realize that whatever business you are
in, there’s wisdom in preparing for crisis PR, whether it is to
deflect attention from a company official’s indiscretions or a
product recall.
It
surely is difficult to regain the trust of consumers after an
incident like this. One must have a thick skin to weather criticism.
Promotional items such as custom bumper stickers, promotional
bookmarks, personalized flashing pins, buttons, and badges can
surely help relay the message that a company sticks by its ideals
and is working on solutions. While it’s best not to talk about the
incident and refresh people’s memories, it would also help for
companies to be straightforward in the beginning and admit to
shortcomings and lapses. Consumers are more likely to be forgiving
if they are.

completed until he
dies."
